Hi! J here! Sorry it’s been so long since I last posted… Anyway I thought I’d just talk about what I’m reading now. However lame that might be.
What I recently finished:
E recommended me A Song for Ella Grey by David Almond. It was really strange and surreal, I don’t know how to describe it but it kind of made me feel weird and just wasn’t for me.
What I’m currently reading:
I randomly grabbed Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson. I don’t love this one either, I guess I’m in a bit of a reading slump. I just don’t feel excited about this book. Meh.
What I want to read:
I have Salvage by Alexandra Duncan on hold at the library and I’m excited for it!! The only problem is that the person who has it checked out now is taking a really long time to read it… haha… I also have checked out Clockwork Prince but I might return it because I’m not that interested in it.
So what are you guys reading? Do you have any recommendations to get me out of this slump?
xx J
Hmmmm… Sorry you’re in a slump! I just have one question- do you read realistic fiction? I always feel like light and funny (usually) realistic fiction helps me out of a slump. Let me know; I have some suggestions in mind!

Hi Amy! I do like realistic fiction when I’m in the right mood but usually I tend to drift towards other genres. If it’s not too much trouble, some recommendations would be awesome. Thanks!!! 🙂 xx J

Haha. 🙂 I get where you’re coming from! Absolutely! No problem. Well, to be honest usually realistic fiction isn’t my thing either; I usually tend to be a fantasy person most of all. But I read everything, so… Anyway, back to what I was saying, realistic fiction just helps me a lot for getting out of slumps. A couple of quick RF that I recommend: Since You’ve Been Gone (Morgan Matson) and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. I really don’t know what genres you lean towards, so I can’t be as specific (I’m curious now, you’re going to have to tell me!), but a couple others from other genres that are quick and great for slumps are: Maximum Ride (James Patterson) as well as Me, My Elf, and I (Heather Swain). Good luck and let me know what you think! (And genre! Don’t forget genre!)

Thank you!! I’ll check if those are available from the library. I love dystopian and historical fiction, mostly. xx J

You’re not the only one in a reading slump, J! I’ve been in one for the past month. I think I only read a total of three books in October. Sigh. I’m sorry that Clockwork Prince isn’t interesting you. I adored that book, personally. And Clockwork Princess was a wonderful finale; I hope you decide to finish the trilogy someday though!
